Shopian, Nov 12, : Acting swiftly against the circulation of inflammatory content online, Shopian Police have registered an FIR after a video encouraging separatist tendencies surfaced on social media.
The video, shared on a Facebook page titled “Voice of Humanity”, reportedly contained a speech promoting separatist activities and aimed at disturbing peace and public tranquility in the region.
Taking cognizance of the matter, police registered FIR No. 109/2025 at Police Station Zainapora, and an investigation has been initiated to identify those responsible for creating and sharing the content.
A police spokesperson according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com said that strict legal action will be taken against individuals attempting to exploit social media platforms to incite unrest or disrupt harmony.
Reiterating its stance, Shopian Police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and public order, emphasizing that any misuse of social media to promote unlawful or divisive agendas will be dealt with firmly under the law.
