December 04: Police in Kulgam have taken prompt action after a video showing stunt biking and eve-teasing by a group of juvenile boys went viral on social media.
Police Station Qaimoh identified the juveniles involved and seized the motorcycles used in the act. The boys were counselled in the presence of their families. Their parents were booked and legally bound down for allowing minors to ride motorcycles illegally and for enabling behaviour that endangered public safety.
Sharing details, SSP Anayat Ali Chowdhary IPS said,
“Parents must understand their responsibility and ensure that no minor is ever handed over a motorcycle or any vehicle. When parents allow such behaviour they put their own child’s life in danger and they also risk the lives of other citizens. These acts of stunt riding and eve-teasing are unacceptable and will be dealt with firmly. Police will take strict action against anyone who violates the law and we seek full cooperation from the community in promoting discipline safety and respect in public spaces.”
Police assures continued strict action against stunt biking, eve-teasing, rash driving, and any activity that threatens the safety and dignity of the public especially women and students.
