A surge in distressing social media videos, rising public donation appeals for medical treatment, and an alarming increase in life-threatening diseases have raised fresh concerns over the health situation in the Valley.
Congress leader and Member of the Muslim Personal Law Board, Er. Danish Reshi, urged the government to immediately prioritise public health, stressing that the pattern of rising cancers and other serious ailments demands urgent investigation.
Reshi called for regular and transparent checks on food adulteration, a scientific assessment of factors contributing to growing diseases, and mass-scale awareness campaigns to educate communities about prevention and early diagnosis.
He further pressed for accessible health insurance coverage that includes treatment for deadly diseases, emphasizing that safeguarding public health is a core responsibility of the government.
