Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat visited the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district to review the ongoing security operations and assess the overall preparedness of forces on the ground. He was accompanied by senior officers, including IGP Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti (IPS), IG CRPF Gopal Rao (IPS), and SSP Udhampur Amod Nagpure (IPS), along with officials from the CRPF and the Army.
During the visit, the DGP chaired a joint meeting with officers from various security agencies to review operational readiness, coordination mechanisms, and the prevailing security situation in the region. The deliberations focused on strengthening cooperation among forces and improving response capabilities.
Prabhat also visited Forward Operating Bases, where he interacted with personnel and commended their dedication while operating in challenging terrain. He urged them to maintain high alertness and continue prioritising the safety and well-being of local communities.
Emphasising the importance of community participation in strengthening the security environment, the DGP called for improved outreach and timely grievance redressal to reinforce public confidence. He also reviewed requirements related to infrastructure improvements and stressed the need for modern equipment, enhanced mobility, and greater use of technology to ensure effective operations.
Senior officers briefed the DGP on recent developments, current deployment patterns, and measures being implemented to further enhance coordination between agencies.
