Srinagar/Jammu, Dec 5 (KDC): Flight operations at both Srinagar and Jammu airports were severely affected on Friday after IndiGo Airlines cancelled a large number of its scheduled flights, with 10 out of 18 flights cancelled at Srinagar Airport and 7 out of 9 flights cancelled at Jammu Airport, causing inconvenience to hundreds of passengers across the Union Territory.

Reports reaching to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) said that the cancellations affected both arriving and departing flights, disrupting connectivity with major destinations across the country. While the airline has not issued a detailed public statement on each cancellation, officials attributed the disruption to operational and technical reasons.

Similar disruption was reported at Jammu Airport, where 7 out of the 9 scheduled IndiGo flights were also cancelled on Friday, further affecting air connectivity in the Union Territory.

Several passengers at both Srinagar and Jammu airports complained of last-minute cancellations, long waiting hours, and lack of timely updates. Many travelers were forced to reschedule their journeys, while others sought refunds.

An airport official said efforts are being made to normalize operations and accommodate affected passengers on alternate flights wherever possible. “Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for real-time updates before heading to the airport,” the official added.

IndiGo, India’s largest domestic carrier, has witnessed sporadic operational disruptions at several airports in recent days due to a mix of weather and technical issues.
