Cyber Cell Pulwama Foils Cyber Frauds, Saves ₹3 Lakh, Recovers 38 Mobile Phones

In its continued efforts to curb rising cyber threats and protect the public from online frauds, Cyber Cell Pulwama has once again demonstrated prompt response and effective action.

Over the past week, the Cyber Cell Pulwama was approached by a dozen of complainants who reported incidents of financial fraud triggered by the download of malicious APK files. The unit took up the matter with utmost urgency, ensuring that each victim’s grievance was formally registered and acted upon without delay.
As a result of swift and coordinated efforts, an amount of ₹3,00,963.32 was successfully safeguarded across different cases. In addition, 38 mobile phones, reported lost by their owners, were successfully traced through due diligence and handed over to them after proper verification and legal formalities.

Cyber Cell Pulwama reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure cyber environment and will continue to take proactive measures against fraudsters attempting to exploit innocent citizens. Citizens are advised to immediately report any suspicious activity or fraudulent transaction through email at cybercrime-pulwama@jkpolice.gov.in or by calling the helpline number 9541943103.
