Srinagar, September 29:

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar today issued a weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating a mix of dry and wet spells over the next few days.

From September 29th to 30th, the region is expected to experience generally dry weather. A similar trend is predicted from October 1st to 4th, although there’s a possibility of light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds towards the late evening and night.

However, a significant change in weather is expected from October 5th to 7th, with generally cloudy skies and intermittent spells of light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir may experience light snowfall during this period.

From October 8th to 10th, the region is likely to experience dry weather again.Farmers in Jammu and Kashmir are advised to continue harvesting paddy and other horticultural crops, including safe storage and other farm operations, until October 4th afternoon.

A gradual fall in day temperature is expected from September 29th onwards, with a significant drop during October 5th and 6th. The region may also witness its first snowfall of the season over the higher reaches of North, Central, and South Kashmir, as well as the higher reaches of Chenab Valley, during October 5th and 6th.
