Budgam, Nov 29: Director Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmad Wani on Saturday said it was encouraging to see parents moving their children from private institutions to government schools, describing it as a sign of renewed trust in public education.

Speaking to Kashmir News Trust during his visit to several schools in Budgam district, Wani said increasing enrolment reflected growing confidence in the quality of education and infrastructure being provided in government institutions.

“It is highly satisfying to see dozens of parents bringing their children from private schools to government schools. This shows people have started trusting the education standards and facilities here,” he said.

He assured parents that the department would work to meet expectations and appealed to teachers to uphold their responsibility of delivering quality education. “It is our duty to provide the best education to our children,” he added.

Wani said the increase in enrolment comes amid efforts by the School Education Department to upgrade infrastructure, improve teaching standards and strengthen monitoring mechanisms in government schools across Kashmir.
