Srinagar – In a significant development for the region’s religious community, renowned Congress leader and artist Er Danish Reshi formally joined the Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Personal Law Board (J&K MPLB) today.
The welcome was led by the board’s chairman, Mufti Nasir ul Islam, who extended a warm reception to Reshi and lauded his decision via an official announcement on his social media handle. The message emphasized that Reshi’s background in both public service and the arts brings a fresh perspective to the board’s outreach efforts and community engagement.
In his post, Mufti Nasir ul Islam wrote that Reshi’s inclusion “represents a bridge between faith, culture and modern societal discourse” and welcomed him to contribute toward the board’s mission of upholding and educating on personal law issues in the region.
Reshi, in his comments to the press, expressed gratitude for the invitation and said he looked forward to working within the board “to foster harmony, preserve traditions and amplify voices of the youth in Jammu & Kashmir.” He also pledged to engage his artistic platform in support of the board’s educational initiatives on rights, duties and social equity.
The move marks a noteworthy intersection of politics, art and religious administration at a time when the J&K MPLB is seeking stronger community connection and renewed relevance among younger demographics.
