High Court Announces 15-Day Winter Break for District Courts in J&K, Ladakh

Srinagar, Dec 10, :

 

The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on Wednesday announced the winter vacation schedule for district courts across both Union Territories, declaring a 15-day break to be observed from January 1 to January 15, 2026.

According to a notification issued by Registrar General M.K. Sharma, all District Courts in the Kashmir Province, courts in Kishtwar and Doda, and the courts located at Batote, Gool, Banihal, and Ukhral in Ramban district, as well as Bani in Kathua district of Jammu Division, will remain closed for the winter vacation. In addition, all courts across Ladakh will also observe the same vacation period, reported news agency Kashmir Dot Com.

The High Court has instructed Principal District and Sessions Judges and Chief Judicial Magistrates to remain available for handling urgent criminal matters during the break to ensure continuity of essential judicial functions. (KDC)
