Srinagar, Dec 1
Srinagar commuters may finally get a breather, as the Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo on Monday revealed that the administration is rolling out a series of targeted measures to tackle citywide traffic congestion, with special attention to emergency access and daily commuters.
The Sonarkol link road, under construction near the Super Speciality Hospital, will connect Nawa Bazar to Safakadal, offering a much-needed alternate route for ambulances and trauma cases. DC, Akshay Labroo, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Corner (KNC) stressed that smooth mobility requires a mix of small, medium, and large interventions, backed by enforcement and smart traffic management.
He said, with recent projects like the Sanatnagar Flyover and Noor Jahan Bridge, Srinagar is gradually moving towards systematic decongestion, making city travel faster, safer and less stressful for its residents.—
