In a significant breakthrough in a livestock theft case, Pulwama Police has successfully recovered 47 stolen sheep related to Case FIR No. 282/2025 U/S 331(4), 305 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The sheep were stolen from Banderpora during the intervening night of 17/18 November 2025 and were traced to Kulan Kangan, Ganderbal.
During sustained investigation, Pulwama Police arrested two accused involved in the theft, identified as Ab Razak Bajad, s/o Mohd Shafi, r/o Kandiyal Akhnoor, and Mohd Jeelani Barghat, s/o Mohd Zar, r/o Dova Rajouri. Meanwhile, three other accused Mushtaq Ahmad Khari, s/o Baugh Hussain, r/o Thandi Choi Akhnoor; Nazakket Ahmad Bokda, s/o Mohd Zubair, r/o Akhnoor, A/P Wahab Sahib Khrew; and Mohd Jaleeni Barghat, s/o Mohd Motwali, r/o Sugli Gala Kalakot Rajouri are still evading arrest. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding accused at the earliest.
The recovered livestock is being transported back to Pulwama for legal formalities and restoration to the rightful owner.
