Sopore Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers; Charas Recovered at Warpora

Continuing its relentless fight against the drug menace, Sopore Police apprehended two drug peddlers during naka checking at Aftab Mohalla, Warpora Crossing, and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

During naka checking, two suspicious persons coming from Janwara towards Warpora attempted to flee on noticing the police party. However, the alert naka team acted swiftly and apprehended both individuals tactfully. Upon search, charas-like substance was recovered from their possession.

The accused have been identified as:
1. Ghulam Nabi Bhat, S/O Ghulam Mohammad Bhat
2. Aabid Hussain War, S/O Mohammad Afzal War
Both residents of Warpora, Sopore.

Accordingly, FIR No. 24/2026 under Sections 8/20 & 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.
