JAMMU, Jan 30: The Ministry of Home Affairs has promoted five AGMUT cadre IPS officers to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP), including three officers who have been granted proforma promotion while on Central deputation.
As per an order issued by the Ministry, Dr Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal and David Lalrinsanga have been promoted to the DGP rank in Level 16 of the pay matrix, with effect from Feb 1, 2026, or from the date they assume charge, whichever is later.
The promotions were made following the recommendations of the Screening Committee meeting held on Dec 8, 2025, and were approved by the competent authority.
Meanwhile, the three officers accorded proforma promotion are Satish Shriramaji Khandare, Rajesh Kumar and Tsewang Namgyal Kalon.
