An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the airport had a total of 64 scheduled movements for today, including 32 arrivals and 32 departures for the day.

He said, of these, IndiGo Airlines were accounted for 36 movements, 18 arrivals and 18 departures. He said, however, 14 IndiGo flights 7 arrivals and 7 departures were cancelled, while no delays were reported in morning flight.

In addition the official said, two flights one arrival and one departure operated by other airlines were also cancelled, taking the total number of cancellations to 16 movements.

Moreover, airport officials told KNO that the remaining operations were running as per schedule, but passengers have been advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. “We urge passengers to confirm their flight timing and reach the airport well in advance to avoid inconvenience,” an airport official said.

The cancellations come a day after widespread disruptions hit air traffic across Jammu and Kashmir, with 41 flights cancelled on Thursday, including 39 operated by IndiGo. The cancellations were attributed to IndiGo’s internal compliance measures and crew shortage following new DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) safety directives
