Anantnag, Nov 25 :
Wildlife Control Room Achabal on Tuesday captured two black bears alive during operations conducted in Kaharpora Soaf Kokernag and Andoo Nowgam Shangus, following directions from the Wildlife Warden South Kashmir Anantnag district.
Officials told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that the bear trapped at Andoo Nowgam was the same animal that had injured two residents a woman and a man a day earlier. Locals expressed gratitude to the Wildlife Department for acting swiftly to capture the problematic animal.
After receiving continuous reports of bear movement in the area, the control room teams set up traps to safely capture the animals.
Both bears were later released into their natural habitat after necessary procedures, officials added.
