Woman from Tral Dies After Being Hit by Motorcycle in Awantipora

A woman from south Kashmir’s Tral area who was injured in a road accident a couple of days ago in Charsoo area of Awantipora succumbed to her injuries.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Trust said that the woman, identified as Khateeja, wife of Abdul Majeed Bhat, resident of Mundoora Tral, was crossing the road at Charsoo Awantipora when she was hit by a moving motorcycle. The impact left her critically injured, following which she was initially shifted to PHC Awantipora.

Doctors there had referred her to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment due to the severity of her injuries. However, despite the efforts of the medical team, Khateeja succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to trace the circumstances leading to the collision. The motorcycle rider involved in the accident has been arrested.
