A 24-year-old construction company worker on safety duty inside the Z-Morh Tunnel in Kangan died after being hit by a speeding vehicle on Sunday, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Raina, son of late Haji Ghulam Nabi Raina, a resident of Gagangir Gund.
Colleagues and locals rushed him to PHC Kulan where he received initial treatment before being referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced care. However he succumbed to his injuries on the way. Doctors at SKIMS declared him brought dead upon arrival.
Police said that a case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated into the incident.
