Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Tuesday termed the day as a “Black Day in the democratic history of Jammu and Kashmir,” accusing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of crossing all limits of parliamentary decorum by using the phrase “Inko jutee padee” for BJP MLAs inside the Legislative Assembly.

Speaking to reporters, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Sunil Sharma said the Chief Minister’s remarks had torn apart the sanctity of the House and lowered the dignity of democratic discourse.

“Today will be remembered as a shameful day. The Chief Minister crossed the limits of decorum and ripped apart the sanctity of the Assembly. Such language has never been used by any Chief Minister anywhere in India,” Sharma said.

He accused the Chief Minister of arrogance and forgetting the dignity and responsibility attached to his office. “Ahankar itna chadh gaya hai that he has forgotten the sanctity of words. Using phrases like ‘hitting with shoes’ inside the Assembly is disgraceful,” he said.

Sharma said the remarks not only insulted the opposition benches but also brought disrepute to the House itself. “By using such words, he has shamed the Assembly and reflected poorly on his own upbringing,” the LoP alleged.

Demanding an unconditional apology from the Chief Minister, Sharma warned of continued protests. “We demand an unconditional apology. Until the Chief Minister apologises, the opposition will not allow the House to function,” he asserted.
