In a move aimed at enhancing transparency, convenience and operational efficiency, the Haj Committee of India (HCoI) has introduced an online self-booking facility for flight tickets for Haj pilgrims of Haj-2026.
According to a circular issued by the Haj Committee of India as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, pilgrims can now book their flights directly through the pilgrim login on the HCoI website and the Haj Suvidha App. The optional facility will be available for a limited period of four days starting from January 29, 2026.
The initiative is intended to provide pilgrims the freedom to choose their flights, subject to seat availability and operational constraints. However, pilgrims who do not avail of the self-booking option within the stipulated period will be allotted flights by the Haj Committee without considering any individual preference regarding travel date or flight.
The Haj Committee has made it clear that no requests seeking change of flight or travel date through offline modes such as letters or emails will be entertained.
As per the guidelines, pilgrims travelling under Johfa, LWM and Rubath categories, as well as those from certain small States and Union Territories where transportation is arranged by State Haj Committees, will not be eligible for self-booking. Their flights will be allotted by HCoI only.
Once a flight is booked, no changes will be permitted. The Haj Committee has also reserved the right to modify flight schedules or cancel journeys in case of operational or administrative exigencies.
State Haj Committees have been directed to give wide publicity to the initiative and assist pilgrims in ensuring smooth implementation.
Pilgrims have also been advised to join the official Haj Committee WhatsApp channel for timely updates and announcements.
