Jammu, November 17:

Para athlete Mr. Chandeep Singh from Jammu has made the entire region proud by clinching two bronze medals at the 25th Para National Swimming Championship held at GMC Balayogi Aquatic Complex, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Competing against some of the finest para swimmers from across the country, Chandeep’s achievement marks a remarkable milestone and reflects his determination, grit, and sporting excellence.

Congratulating Chandeep on his achievement, Ms. Yasha Mudgal (IAS), Commissioner Secretary, Youth Services & Sports, J&K, said:
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Chandeep Singh for bringing laurels to Jammu and Kashmir. His performance showcases the growing strength of our para-athletes and the rapidly evolving landscape of para sports across the world. J&K’s athletes are breaking barriers and setting new standards, and the administration remains committed to providing them every possible support.”

Ms. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, also lauded the young athlete, saying:
“Chandeep Singh’s medals are a proud moment for all of us. Para and specially-abled athletes continue to inspire with their determination and achievements. J&K has been witnessing exceptional performances, especially from athletes like Sheetal Devi, who won a historic gold at the 2025 World Para Archery Championship, and Mr. Amir Ahmad Bhat from Anantnag, who recently became India’s first para-pistol shooter to reach World No. 1 in the P-3 Mixed 25m Pistol SH1 category. Their success motivates the entire sporting fraternity and strengthens India’s hopes at global events.”

The entire sports fraternity extended their best wishes to Chandeep Singh for his future competitions and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting para-sports across the region.
